The passage of time I suppose, and as you say, the number of men she’s had down the years.
This happened to my wife and I several years back while we were still in the army, we were stationed in Missouri and my wife ran into a guy she had dated a couple of times before we met, he was stationed there too and worked at the same building with my wife, my wife told me that they had only dated a couple of times but never had sex,
She introduced me to him once when I went to pickup my wife for lunch, he seemed real nice and polite just like most army guys I've met, later my wife told me that he had always been after her when they first met wanting to start a relationship with her but at the time she wasn't interested in having someone, she said she eventually agreed to go out with him and it was nice but there was never any sex involved and that he never even tried getting her in bed both times they went out,
She told me that a month after the last time they went out he was transferred to another duty station and that was the last time she saw him til now, he was now married and had 3 kids, he had been in Missouri 3 years and was due to transfer in a year, although I have always let my wife have fun with whoever she wanted my wife had always had a rule of never fucking anyone she worked with,
During that first year there was a few times that my wife met her friend for lunch to talk and catch up on things, she would always tell me all about it and I sometimes used to joke about it and ask her if he still had the hots for her, my wife would usually just smile and say he's happily married now, that all changed after awhile,
They started going out to lunch and my wife soon told me that a couple of times he had kissed her in the parking lot, it wasn't long after that my was scheduled to go out to the field on a training mission for 2 weeks, her whole company was going to join up with another company to do the training,
Everything went great except a after she came back we found out she was pregnant, at best guess it could've happened sometime between her leaving or right after she came back, my wife didn't keep anything from me and she did tell me she had sex with her old friend twice while they were training, it wasn't clear if I got her pregnant before she left or after she came back, or if her friend got her pregnant while they out training,
Unfortunately we never found out because she had a miscarriage 3 weeks later, she never said anything to her old friend about the pregnancy and only fucked him once more before he transferred, she told me that after they fucked the first time he told her that he was happy he got to fuck her because that was one of the things he had always wanted since he first saw her, he told her that after he left the first time he kept thinking about her and that even after he got married he still thought about her,
I was kind of glad that he finally got to enjoy my wife after so many years of thinking about her and wanting her so badly, my wife did give me some details about what happened the first time they fucked but not a lot she just said that it was very pleasurable being in bed with him..
When my wife meets and goes out with an old flame from her past she takes me with her and makes it clear to him that we come as a package,
She introduces me as her husband and that if things were to go further between them I would be involved,
I don't mean if she meets an old flame for a coffee by accident but if he wants her to go to dinner with him then she wants me to be by her side to make sure he knows were he stands,
There is no room in our relationship for secrets if she wants to go further with him after I have met him and he knows there would be nothing more than just sex with him I wouldn't say no to her unless I really don't like the guy then she says no to any further contact ,

Yes it's always good when everything works out without any drama, my wife had experiences before when she would fuck someone she worked with and afterwards they wouldn't leave her alone, it would usually create too much drama especially if the guy was married.
